We are seeking a data privacy & cybersecurity legal practitioner (e.g. solicitor, barrister) to join the global Practical Law Data Privacy & Cybersecurity team.

About the role
As a Senior Editor in Practical Law, you will use your specialist legal knowledge of data privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity law to provide and maintain a wide range of Practical Law content covering the EU. Working in a supportive global team of highly experienced colleagues, you will deal with a breadth of interesting EU legal and editorial work including:
Researching, drafting, and editing core data privacy, data protection, information security, and cybersecurity legal know-how resources for Practical Law's online products and services
Developing new content ideas for the practice area, including practice notes, standard documents and clauses, checklists, comparative charts, and other privacy compliance-focused resources
Commissioning, reviewing, and editing content written internally and externally
Monitoring legal practice and market developments within the EU and maintaining current awareness on data privacy, data protection, information security, and cybersecurity topics
Writing, editing, and publishing legal updates and other current awareness resources on data privacy, information security, and cybersecurity topics within the EU
Completing regular interim and annual maintenance on core legal know-how resources
Establishing and maintaining relationships with external law firm contributors
Responding to customer inquiries
In addition to this, a Senior Editor will assist:
With marketing the Practical Law Data Privacy & Cybersecurity practice area and engaging with customers, including by assisting with product demos and speaking on webinars
The wider Thomson Reuters editorial teams, liaising with sales, marketing, product management, technology, and segment functions, where necessary
About you
The successful candidate is likely to have:
Substantial post qualification experience in either a law firm or in-house with experience in EU data privacy, data protection, information security, and cybersecurity matters, with a focus on compliance
An understanding of current market issues and proposals to enact, amend, or change data privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity laws and regulations
Analytical and research skills and the ability to identify key issues
A demonstrable interest and ability in writing
Excellent time management and organisational skills
