Details
This position is located in the National Credit Union Administration, Office of External Affairs and Communications. NCUA is seeking an experience candidate to serve as the Public Affairs Specialist.

As the Public Affairs Specialist, you will:

    Work in concert with the Director of Communications by interfacing with media, industry partners, community interests and special interest groups.
    Maintain an effective relationship with media representatives and external public affairs personnel to enhance the effectiveness of the OEAC.
    Serve as an NCUA expert and technical authority for developing communication and media relation strategies. Contribute professional insight and expertise to the development of the NCUA's overall media and strategic communications strategy.
    Design public affairs policy and procedures. Formulate policy recommendations as needed. Make recommendations to the Director regarding appropriate courses of action relating to these frequently novel decisions.
    Identify the most appropriate message and develops customized talking points, press releases, quotes, columns, op-eds, and speeches for the NCUA Chairman and Board members.
    Manage and enhance relationships with electronic, print, and broadcast media outlets (including trade, new, and traditional media) that cover the NCUA and the financial services and banking sectors.
