The hiring company is seeking a PR & Communications Manager that will play a crucial role in solidifying its reputation as a leading organization in the mental health care industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing communication strategies targeted at mental health and digital health audiences, with a focus on securing earned media, speaking engagements, awards, and advocacy initiatives. This individual will also be tasked with managing and assessing the impact of their work through regular reporting.
What you'll do:
Lead the strategy for the 'Industry PR' function, working to enhance and safeguard the hiring company's position as a market leader in mental health care and digital health audiences.
Generate original pitch ideas to secure press coverage that aligns with the company's objectives.
Collaborate with the insurance team to identify potential product and partnership stories and initiatives for public relations purposes.
Cultivate strong relationships with the company's senior leadership team and provide support as a spokesperson in media interactions.
Oversee the speaking calendar for the CEO and SVP of Payer Strategy & Partnerships, identifying and pursuing priority events, drafting applications, and fostering relationships with conference organizers.
Identify and execute opportunities for the CEO and providers to advocate for legislation that advances the field of mental health care, in collaboration with the Senior PR & Communications Manager.
Share operational responsibilities with the Brand PR & Communications Manager, managing PR initiatives, coverage tracking, briefing documents, and the press email alias in Asana.
Work closely with the Senior PR & Communications Manager to produce reports and evaluate the progress of initiatives towards quarterly goals.
Who you are:
Possess 3-5 years of agency or in-house startup experience (experience in healthcare is advantageous) in PR and communications.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with reporters resulting in sustained coverage.
Equally comfortable leading strategic initiatives and engaging in hands-on tasks.
Avid consumer of news, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities.
Exceptional writing skills with the capability to adapt voice and tone for different audiences (investors, providers, consumers, etc.).
Ability to connect PR initiatives to broader company objectives and demonstrate PR's impact on the organization and its mission.
