Online Journalist

This will be an initial 3 month contract but with a very strong likelihood of extension. The role sits within IR35 and will be paid PAYE. The role will initially be for 3 day per week and could move up to 5 days (Mon – Fri). My client are a leading media owner based in London and working on a hybrid model – 1 day week in the office.

This person will be across the news agenda and be responsible for pitching interesting angles on trending stories using distinctive formats to drive deeper engagement with our users. The primary tool my client use is called Flourish but I would also be interested in speaking with someone that has experience using Statista as well.

What Skills you need:

· Is a journalist with experience of working in digital journalism, incl. knowing how to use a CMS and building articles from scratch

· Has experience of covering trending stories across a range of subjects

· Has demonstrable aptitude and/or experience of being able to report on stories using data visualisation tools or other new format techniques (sliders, quizzes, polls etc)

· Is confident in working with data

· Can work independently - this journalist will be responsible for pitching ideas to news editors and executing them
