The Role
We are hiring a Distressed Debt Reporter to join our team of experienced, successful and highly motivated individuals in New York. This reporter will be responsible for breaking news on corporate restructurings and will collaborate with a team of journalists as well as financial and legal analysts.
The reporter will primarily cover corporate credit, focus on leveraging market sources to identify companies with near-term restructuring triggers, and provide Reorg subscribers with value-add intelligence on in-and out-of-court restructurings and post-reorg situations.
Responsibilities
Break news on distressed debt borrowers across America
Work closely with a team of journalists, financial analysts and legal analysts
Develop and maintain contacts in the credit market as well as with financial advisors, investment bankers and restructuring lawyers
Identify market trends and write timely insight pieces for a sophisticated readership
Attend relevant conferences and events
Requirements
Motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
Curiosity about corporate finance, bankruptcy law, and the professionals that drive the processes
Strong communication skills to collaborate internally and build an expansive source book
Experience covering credit markets and bankruptcy is preferred
Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with corporate financial statements

As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.
The salary range estimate for this position is $80,000 - $100,000.
The actual compensation will be at Reorg’s sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
