The editorial position will bring plenty of opportunity to report on a range of news, including councils, school boards, court proceedings, community events, and a range of other interesting events.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for telling stories relevant to the community, and the ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.

Applicants will be expected to manage a wide range of writing assignments, basic photography capabilities, an understanding of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and exhibit strong writing skills.

Candidates with previous news coverage experience and a degree or diploma in journalism or a relevant field are preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with strong writing and language skills as well as a passion for local journalism.

A valid driver’s licence, vehicle and a smartphone are also required for the position.
