Reuters is looking for a tech savvy individual to join the Singapore desk as a technical producer.
The successful candidate must be able to work calmly under pressure and with tight deadlines to deliver a top-notch file for our clients – both internal and external. He or she should be a self-starter who is comfortable working on the desk as well as in the field. The successful candidate must be a team player who can work closely with colleagues in bureau, text and pictures colleagues with efficiency and patience.
About the Role
As a Technical Producer, you will:
Handle LIVE signals coming into the Asia production hub and coordinate with all crews in across the region.
Edit video from to make sure they are in the right colour tone, audio levels and correct format.
Monitor and troubleshoot any video quality issues.
Film and use LiveU and other Live applications out in the field.
Set up media workspaces for video teams covering events.
Be asked at times to work long hours, weekend shifts, often under extreme pressure and unsupervised.
Have production skills and news judgment.
Train production producers on new equipment and applications.
About You
To be a Technical Producer at Reuters, you will likely have:
3-5 years of experience in news gathering.
Sharp eye for visual news elements and video/multi-media storytelling.
Excellent communication skills in English. Asian language(s) is a plus.
A thorough understanding of all the latest technologies in filming, transmitting, editing and sharing video.
Respond courageously to major breaking news events, acting quickly, and in a responsible manner.
