Social Media Producer (Level 1 Journalist- TEMP)

Reuters has an exciting opportunity available to join a new and dynamic team that will work to verify social media content relating to the U.S. presidential election. You will have a passion for politics and current affairs, expertise in navigating social networks and a track record in spotting emerging trends and stories. Most importantly, you’ll need to have sharp instincts and a rigorous, analytical approach to problem-solving.

This entry-level position, suitable for a recent graduate, will involve identifying newsworthy and viral content relating to the 2020 election and taking the appropriate steps to establish the facts behind it. You will be expected to write up your findings in clear, concise, copy. Prior experience in reporting, social media newsgathering or fact checking would be a clear advantage. However, as full training will be given, a willingness to learn quickly is at least as important. This role has a daytime shift pattern, with some weekend work. The position runs through the end of 2020.
