OUR DEPARTMENT:
The earned media team at MMC and RXM is responsible for all things press and publicity. We are media relations mavens who are on the frontlines of today’s news – not to mention we’re entrusted with helping our clients make tomorrow’s headlines. This role will allow you to be part of an opportunity to get hands-on health experience for high-profile campaigns for some of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical and biotech brands.
THE ROLE:

Do you want to be supported by awesome people day in and day out? Well, the earned media team is hiring for an amazing Senior Account Executive in our health media group!
Ideal candidate will have blend of both regulatory and data healthcare media and be able to lead development of media materials. This role will be an important go-to as the science expert across the agency and know the recipe for securing media hits in scientific communications. Attention to detail and critical thinking is a must!
This is a hands-on role which not only sees you as a key member on the media team (with plenty of growth potential!), but also allows you the opportunity to work with brand management teams, digital, creative functions to help ideate and execute integrated, tactical program elements. A big part of your remit will be honing story angles the media will gravitate to, developing independent client relationships and opportunity to be on-the-ground at key Congresses and industry events. Your “never say die” attitude will earn you an important seat at the table upstream in program development so that all programs and story angles start with the elements and assets the media craves.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
Identify healthcare trends, relevant social media conversations, and other helpful media insights and suggest ideas that support client growth
Support brand teams in all efforts pertaining to: media relations, events, trends, and strategy by: Developing pitches and securing placements for brand teams, fostering relationships with media to ensure earned media coverage for clients
Developing strategy, developing material, pitching, researching and soft-sounding ideas for brand teams to ensure mediability
Create, develop and maintain relationships with healthcare media and healthcare media trades
Identify go-to resources for trends and insights (e.g., websites, Twitter, etc.), pop-culture news, breaking news, and industry news, and make recommendations to brand teams that are timely
Partner with the talent/partnerships group to identify synergies between paid and earned media opportunities, particularly with HCP media
Seamlessly partner with brand teams and other integrated disciplines (creative, digital, strategy, online, etc.) to ensure integration of media teams with all functions
Continually seek to evolve your business knowledge and competitors, vertical industry, media landscape, and emerging trends in consumer health behavior
Confidently create, and present media plans for clients that ensure their alignment and buy-in
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
3+ years of experience in a media relations role or with a media relations focus
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
Science curiosity and ability to translate complicated science into simple language
Proven track record of success securing coverage and building relationships within healthcare, data, and regulatory reporters and trend forecasting
Strong understanding of and experience in the relationship between traditional public relations and the use of current online/digital technology and social media
Solid relationships and working knowledge of key online/offline media influencers/journalists
Solid understanding of FDA rules and regulations, experience navigating 3-5 regulatory milestones (UK + EU regulatory experience a plus!)
Established relationships with reporters in the healthcare space

The anticipated salary range for this position is ($65,000-$80,000). Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and/or other benefits also are available.
