The Team: The Commodity Insights editing team, or the Quality & Digital ("Q&D") team, is a global group of editors tasked with ensuring content generated by S&P Global Commodity Insights (CI) market and news reporters meets our high editorial standards. The team drives long-term improvement and excellence, playing a central role in coaching and mentoring reporters in their journey to becoming strong content creators. You will sit within the Q&D team, which is part of the wider news team at CI, working with global commodity editors and content creators in a real-time publishing environment, editing news stories, market commentaries/rationales, and thought leadership reports, among others.
The Impact: To ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to CI's News Essentials and house style.

Responsibilities:
Edit a high volume of wide-ranging, complex, often sensitive content, at speed and under pressure
Ensure all content meets CI's News Essentials principles and house style
Send content back for rework with constructive feedback when needed
Ensure all content is market relevant, accurate, legally compliant, and concise
Display strong degree of flexibility while working under pressure
Work a later US shift for handover to editors in Asia
Support editing workflow during US public holidays
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or English Language/Literature or Communication and Publishing or Business/and Finance
Minimum 3-4 years of experience in news reporting/and or editing
Understanding of journalistic best practices and media laws
Excellent verbal and written English-language skills
Attention to detail and good multitasking skills
Ability to act both independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal skills -- must work harmoniously with other editors across regions and time zones
Preferred qualifications:
Prior experience working as an editor, particularly for a financial publication or a real-time news wire, is preferred
Working knowledge of energy and commodity markets will be very advantageous
Proficiency in desktop publishing software, different types of content management systems, data visualization and working knowledge of social media posting and publishing is a plus
High degree of literacy and numeracy is a plus
