We value team members who are self-motivated, have a good sense of humor, are willing to help out their colleagues, and are keen to learn. We believe strongly in diversity, equity and inclusion and are committed to making all feel welcome and valued.
The Impact:
The region of Europe, the Middle East and Africa includes many of the world's most important grain exporters and importers. Nigeria relies on imported rice, Egypt on wheat, while sales of agricultural products are key for Ukraine’s trade balance. As Editor, you will be responsible for daily price assessments that serve as a reference point for buyers and sellers across the region. By driving the adoption of these assessments, you will make it easier for all the participants in this market to operate at a time of high price volatility.
What’s in it for you:
Excellent career growth potential within the Agriculture & Food team, and an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that works across wheat, rice and corn and with the global teams in the Americas and Asia.
Access to S&P Global’s wide-ranging data sets, as well as exposure to other aspects of the business, including technology, analytics and news.
Opportunities to travel internationally for industry events and conferences several times a year, where you may have the chance to represent S&P Global Commodity Insights as a speaker.
You will also have the chance to represent CI in face-to-face meetings, in webinars, podcasts, and interviews requested by media organizations.
Responsibilities:
The Editor will provide daily market coverage of the EMEA Agriculture & Food markets. They will write commentaries that explain the trends driving prices. They will produce news stories and infographics, as well as representing Platts at industry events across the region.
The Editor will correspond regularly with every significant market participant in the region, ranging from rice importers in Nigeria to wheat growers in southern Russia.
The Editor will ensure that Platts’ purpose is understood across the market and strengthen the company’s position by launching new price assessments as required.
In addition to the usual market coverage role, the Editor will be expected to become a genuine leader on their market and closely related markets, able to cover and speak on several different subsectors. They will also be responsible for driving forward methodology projects and process changes, supporting the work of the EMEA Managing Editor into whom they will report.

Two to five years relevant experience (e.g. Analysis/editorial/consultancy)
Confidence with networking and developing business relationships
Strong public speaking / presentational skills
Good numeracy skills including confidence using Excel
Fluency in one or more of the following languages would be an advantage: Arabic, French, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Turkish
Flexible Working (optional)
