The Role
You will report on downstream oil industry in the EMEA region, creating timely, market-related news, writing analysis, features and other enterprise content as part of a team of dedicated oil-focussed reporters in London. You will work closely with a wider energy commodity news reporting team and oil market reporting team in day-to-day news coverage and link our content to key price assessments covering oil markets in Europe and Africa. This position has a strong focus on the EMEA refining industry, fuels market and related demand and inventory indicators.
Your Skills
You have a strong journalistic skill set with the ability to unearth and shed light on complex topics using both unique, direct sourcing and data-led insights. You can produce clean, timely copy while remaining responsive and flexible in a real-time, breaking news environment. You have superb planning skills to stay on top of key industry events and policy development on your beat. Ideally, you should have experience of data-visualisation and other forms of data-driven storytelling.
The Impact: You will be working as part of small, high-impact team within the EMEA regional news organization structure. Your content will be showcased in our industry-leading publications such as Oilgram News and receive broad exposure via our social channels.
Maintain S&P Global Commodity Insights' high journalistic standards, practices and policies and ensure editorial quality in line with our content transformation strategy and editorial focus on differentiated content and news powering markets.

Required Skills
Excellent English language and strong writing skills.
Ability to produce clean, well-rounded copy within tight deadlines.
Ability to closely follow key industry news themes while generate regular unique content such as interviews and event/ data analysis.
Good content presentation using infographics, maps, charts, tables etc to enhance reader impact.
Engage with industry players to grow and maintain a network of trusted sources.
Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Knowledge of oil markets and downstream hydrocarbons preferable
Data analysis skills desirable
Visual storytelling and infographic creation skills preferable
European languages or Arabic a plus.
