The Managing Editor, Asia Steel & Scrap, will lead a team responsible for executing on Platts Asia steel and scrap pricing and news priorities on a day-to-day basis. The role involves a significant amount of external engagement aimed at raising Platts profile, promoting understanding of our methodology and providing thought leadership in those markets. The managing editor will drive excellence in pricing and lead the team toward being a producing top-notch content, including for delivery at conferences and to the media, collaborating with colleagues within and outside of the team.

What we’re looking for
Proven ability to produce high quality content in a market reporting or analysis context, including by way of price assessments, market commentaries and news, multimedia content and presentations
Experience managing a small team, or demonstrated potential to do so
Ability to foster a team culture of high performance
Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented, global, multicultural environment
Ability to acquire skills needed to deliver high quality presentations, including to an external audience, explaining price assessment methodology and providing market updates
Desire to take ownership of a market in informational and source relationship terms
Adept at prioritizing and completing multiple tasks, adhering to deadlines
A background in metals or other commodity markets would be advantageous
Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in another Asian language a plus
