Sage Earth is looking for a Senior Technical Writer who will align together with Developers, Product Managers and Design to provide high-quality product documentation for our user personas both internally and externally. You will play a significant role in our growth, building and improving our documentation to help customers to understand and look to reduce their carbon footprint. Working alongside a high-performance team of great people, you will collaborate with others to have a continuous positive impact on our team and the services we provide. We offer a full-time position with hybrid working available.

Requirements:

Significant experience (5+ years preferred) writing technical documentation around software development pipelines, testing, databases, and REST API’s, reducing ambiguity and complexity wherever possible

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, equivalent qualification, or experience

Experience working with DevOps environments with a high degree of automation using CI/CD

Proficient in deploying documentation using GitHub Actions

Proficient in writing markdown

Experience using static site generators and managing docs as code

Writing samples or portfolio (or willing to demo your skills).

Knowledge of accounting lingo is preferable (or desire to learn).

In your first 90 days you'll:

Gain the tools and insight you need to author content. We will make sure you feel comfortable and confident knowing who you are writing content for and the product you are representing. You will also get familiar with our standards, processes and of course get to know your new team!

Plan, research, create and champion high-quality, jargon-free, consistent technical content that helps users learn and get the most out of our product, enabling them to self-serve as much as possible.

Work within an Agile product development framework

Experiment with innovative ways to make our technical content meet the evolving needs of our customers

Develop excellent working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues.

Identify, highlight, modify and improve technical documentation written by others for external stakeholders.

Collaborative mindset as a key contributor to the development team, understanding what the scope of the documentation requirements are. They look forward to trusting you to supply content.

Freedom to lead your own product and function independently. The development team and product managers will be there for support and guide (if you need it)!

Ensure documentation adheres to API documentation specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger)

Stay up to date with best practices and industry trends for API documentation

Create and maintain both guidelines and templates for documentation for consistency and clarity.
