About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Features Editor to join the team to create and edit content for SBS News' Digital native and Third Party platforms. This is a full-time ongoing weekday role.
You will be:
* Responsible for the editorial leadership of digital features and innovative storytelling for SBS News, which can also include investigations, data led journalism, interactives and visualisations
* Commissioning and editing pre-planned digital-only and digital-led content
* Using data and analytics tools to help inform editorial choices
* Delivering against corporate strategy
About you
The ideal team fit/attributes for the successful candidate is one who is thorough, dedicated to storytelling and collegiate.
You must be a confident and creative editor with a strong eye for detail and the stories that resonate and matter to our audience.
You’ll need an understanding of media law, flawless subbing, strong headline writing skills.
You’ll be committed to maintaining our editorial integrity and maximising our publishing reach.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience planning, commissioning, editing and sub-editing experience, including investigative features
You must also bring;
A keen interest in what’s happening in the world to develop storytelling in new and innovative ways to reach and engage wider audiences.
A passion for providing news for all Australians
A hunger to understand and share new developments and trends in journalism and digital media.
Good energy to collaborate across the newsroom to create unique and distinctive content that meets deadlines.
Open to the possibility to undertake occasional irregular hours.
