The East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star series have an opportunity to join our award-winning team as a senior reporter. With 15 million readers online and in print each month, our audience is hungry for news and our team delivers top-quality journalism, in a fast-paced newsroom. As part of our Suffolk reporting team, you will be expected to forge strong contacts in our communities, as well as be on top of the issues that impact them most. Crime, councils, courts, social issues and culture will all be on your radar, and you will know how to dig out a story. Put simply - if something happens in Suffolk, you will be the first to know about it. In recent times, Suffolk has seen its restaurant and bar scene blossom, its League One football team is always a buzz and county town Ipswich is full of great material. There are stories at every turn and it is a fantastic place to live. Excellent communication skills and the ability to write accurate copy are minimum requirements. Multi-media awareness is a benefit, but the role is suited to someone strong in the fundamentals of journalism – building contacts and finding exclusives. This is not a desk job, and those unwilling to get their hands dirty need not apply.
