Senior Technical Writer
Hazelcast is looking for a Senior Technical Writer, who will work closely with Developers, Project Managers, UX designers, and Product Managers to provide high-quality product documentation for all our user personas.
What You'll Do
Content: Champion high-quality, consistent technical writing.
Structure: Define topic types that make documentation easier to scan. Where necessary, reorganize existing documentation into those topic types.
Reviews: Provide effective reviews for content created by others.
Developer Experience: Represent tech writing in cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve the information experience of our customers.
Product knowledge: Understand the technology and features that require documentation.
Process: Contribute to our style guide and help design templates.
What You Have
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience
At least 5 + years of professional experience writing technical documentation
Experience using static site generators such as Antora and managing docs as code.
Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript (we own the documentation website too).
Experience planning, researching, writing, and editing software documentation, including APIs.
Experience with markup languages such as Asciidoc.
Confident working with multiple distributed development teams.
Knowledge of topic-based authoring.
Excellent English communication skills.
Additionally, we’d love it if you have experience with the following:
Distributed systems.
Advanced programming or other technical experience.
Hazelcast products.
A rapidly scaling start-up environment.
Experience of deploying documentation using GitHub Actions to Netify (or equivalents)
Remote work in collaboration with colleagues across countries and time zones.
Location
This is a remote position that can be based in the UK.
