The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and talented Senior Youtube Script Writer and Researcher to join our team.

Please note, we are looking for someone with script writing experience writing in someone’s tone of voice (not a brand/company). It is strongly desired that this within the Youtube space, or you possess a strong understanding of Youtube script structures.

This role is ideal for individuals who are fascinated by true crime, possess excellent research skills, and have a knack for compelling storytelling.

As a True Crime Youtube Script Writer and Researcher, you will be responsible for researching, writing, and creating content that both informs and captivates our audience.

Scriptwriting:

- Write engaging and well-researched true crime scripts for the creators youtube channel that adheres to our company's editorial guidelines. This will extend to other forms of content such as social posts.

- Write compelling narratives that provide readers/viewers with a deep understanding of the cases, motives, and key characters involved - narratives must work for visual and audio only consumption

- Writing brand briefs where needed

Editing and Proofreading:

- Review all team members' work and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and style consistency

- Ensure that all content meets high editorial standards and maintains the Creator’s tone of voice

Research and Investigation:

- Conduct in-depth research into true crime cases and mystery cases, including gathering information from reliable sources such as news articles, books, documentaries, and interviews

- Analyse and evaluate the credibility of sources to ensure accuracy and authenticity, logging all sources

Management:

- Manage a small team of 1-2 people, ensuring all the scripts are submitted within the required timeframe

- Managing timelines, being the central point of contact for the research team

Stay Informed:

- Keep up-to-date with developments in the true crime youtube genre, emerging trends, and relevant news- Suggesting as many new/unknown cases as possible

Skills and Experience

- 4+ years experience with scriptwriting in someone’s tone of voice for Youtube

- A passion for true crime and a genuine interest in the genre

- Very open to feedback and changes on scripts and other work

- Exceptional research skills, including the ability to gather information from a variety of sources

- Strong storytelling abilities with an emphasis on creating engaging narratives

- Experience with line management and managing a team or willingness to learn this aspect

- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

- Proficiency in using research tools, databases, and online resources

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

- (desirable) Familiarity with SEO and digital content best practices
