We are looking for a Reporter in Cairns who has a hunger for news gathering and a desire to break stories.

Reporting to the Supervising Producer, you will be responsible for gathering, editing and presenting information in a composed, accurate and engaging manner.

This role requires roster flexibility, and a willingness to work extra hours when the news day demands.

Other key responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key people and organisations;
Breaking stories and creating engaging content;
Representing the Company in a professional and courteous manner.

We are looking for someone who has:

A solid understanding of media law and ethics.
The ability to think clearly and act quickly under pressure.
An energetic, self-starter attitude
Proven editorial skills
A proven ability to liaise and communicate with all levels as well as the confidence to do so under pressure.
A sense of urgency and focus on tight deadlines
Competency in Script writing in TV News format
Meticulous attention to detail with some experience in a newsroom
