SHE Media is hiring a full-time Primetime Editor to join SOAPS' editorial team. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and passionate about television and network primetime shows — from Chicago Med and Station 19 to Grey’s Anatomy and Law & Order. This role will report directly to the Entertainment Director and is expected to write a wide variety of stories on topics ranging from the actors' personal lives to breaking news and spoiler-based conjecture. They will also be expected to pitch ideas and conduct interviews with various members of the primetime television community, including actors, writers, and behind-the-scenes personnel.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone who loves television drama and is a self-starter who’s up for the challenge of expanding the scope of the site’s current focus on daytime soap operas.
The Work:
Pitch and write 3 to 6 stories a day
Ideate and produce evergreen galleries and search-driven posts
Use SEO and analytics to inform content creation and help ensure the site meets monthly traffic goals
Proactively arrange and execute talent interviews that can be leveraged for multiple pieces of content
Recruit, train and edit new freelance writers who can help provide additional coverage of top-performing primetime TV shows
The Fine Print:
3 to 5 years of editorial experience, preferably at a major digital media company
Keyed-in to what primetime TV fans are loving and, just as important, loathing, and able to use that knowledge to create engaging stories
Able to work well with others in a creative, collaborative environment
Experience conducting interviews within the entertainment industry
Working knowledge of WordPress, Google Analytics and SEO best practices
Typical wage range: $60k - $70k
