The Managing Editorial department oversees the book production process from manuscript to finished books and is an essential communication hub and resource for the Publishing, Editorial, Copyediting, Design, Composition, Prepress, Manufacturing, and Ebook groups. Reporting to the managing editor, the managing editorial assistant is responsible for inputting and maintaining metadata in the title database, routing jacket and cover mechanicals, formatting bound galley covers, running reports, helping to monitor schedules, and other support duties.

Requirements:

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, and an ability to learn quickly. A positive attitude and interest in the publishing industry as a whole is also very advantageous. This job is entry-level, so no previous experience is necessary, though experience with a publishing internship or publishing classes is preferable.

The annual salary for this position is $50,000.00 - $50,000.00

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
