Freelance Digital Proofreader

Somnio is in search of a freelance Digital Proofreader, someone with expertise in proofreading, copyediting, interactivity, and usability, to join us on October 19 and 20 for an immediate project. Additionally, we are looking to expand our roster of QA freelancers who can step in when our primary resources are unavailable or when the workload necessitates the collaboration of two proofreaders for the day. This position is on an as-needed basis and involves working with team members from various disciplines to guarantee the quality and brand adherence of our digital projects.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Detail-oriented with effective time management and strong organizational skills
Self-motivated, positive team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Able to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in Windows & Mac OS, browser compatibility
Able to identify, report and manage defects
Able to understand and follow client brand guidelines
1+ years of QA experience preferred, ideally in a digital agency environment
Professional grammatical and copy editing abilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Thoroughly review and correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors in various types of content, including written materials, websites, marketing materials, and more.
Ensure consistency in style, tone, and voice across different pieces of content. Edit for clarity and readability.
Verify that all facts, figures, and information presented in the content are correct and up-to-date.
Maintain brand consistency by adhering to established brand guidelines and ensuring that content aligns with the agency’s and clients’ style.
Usability and Readability: Assess content for user-friendliness and readability, making sure it is engaging and accessible to the intended audience.
Ensure that produced collateral aligns with client expectations and brand guidelines
Review copy/design layout in a variety of different platforms and environments
Display strong communication and problem solving skills
Comfortable working in a remote setting
