Digital News Engagement Manager

The Daily Herald is searching for a versatile digital news engagement manager to help lead our audience development initiatives. This position will oversee our digital news producers and will be a player/coach to determine the department’s workloads, dive in when necessary and assess the needs of our intended audience. You will have daily interacting with the entire digital news and marketing team. In this role, you will need to instruct staff and prioritize the needs of the department to ensure that the content we produce is distributed to the widest audience possible in a timely and accurate format. To that end, you should have a working concept of a marketing funnel, the content that drives a potential audience member to conversion, how to use social engagement, newsletters, email marketing and various other channels to their highest and best use case scenario. Additionally, having a high capacity to troubleshoot commonly used- and industry-specific software applications is a plus. You should also be well-versed in English and written English as there will be scenarios that content will need to be re-written and re-formatted to appeal to a specific audience and conversion channel.
