Executive Editor (Port Angeles, WA)

Peninsula Daily News in Port Angeles seeks a web-savvy executive editor who can help us broaden our audience. This job, which reports to the publisher, is the No. 1 position in our newsroom. The executive editor provides day-to-day leadership for online news coverage and publication of our print newspaper. This requires news judgment and proven ability in reporting, writing, editing and presentation. The executive editor also is responsible for management and administration relating to the news staff. The right candidate will relentlessly focus on content — content that's fresh and interesting; content that clicks with readers; and content that establishes our products as "must reads" in the market. The executive editor will need to quickly grasp our newsroom's technology — a content management system (GPS), a web design system (WordPress), the Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Docs.
