Sports Reporter

St. George News | StGeorgeNews.com, a Canyon Media company, is seeking a sports/news reporter able and willing to cover a combination of news assignments, including sports, hard news, breaking news, general assignment and enterprise stories. The work schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday afternoons/evenings.
As a sports reporter, you must be able and willing to do the following:
- Attend local high school and college sporting events
- Write comprehensive stories about games, players and coaches with speed and accuracy
- Confer with a small staff of stringers to organize coverage assignments
- Identify feature and profile opportunities to tell the stories of the athletes living in Southern Utah
- Post content to social media
- Compose accurate, attention-grabbing and relevant headlines
