Yahoo News (UK) is looking for a Entertainment News Editor to join the team.
You will be responsible for driving our entertainment and culture coverage.
Yahoo’s mission is to be the best guide to the internet and the world beyond. This role is central to this mission - guiding our users through the world of entertainment to help them feel informed and entertained, and to use their leisure time wisely. To deliver this you will create rich, informed, memorable, and unique stories driven by a strong understanding of audience insights that helps build loyalty, engagement and a distinct Yahoo voice. There will be a specific focus on unscripted TV and celebrity culture.
You will play a key role in supporting the Head of Entertainment to develop new formats and franchises and create engaging content enhanced using interactive elements and data visualisation tools, empowering readers to come away feeling informed. Where the opportunity arises, you will support the Sales team and any commercial opportunities.
Yahoo is both a content creator and curator, and journalists who join the team are challenged to think creatively to discover new ways of producing original content that delights our users and complements the content already on our site from a wide range of partners.
The ideal candidate will boast a strong understanding of the UK entertainment landscape, a deep bank of contacts, and experience covering trending events including live television, awards shows, and developing water cooler moments.
