In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for implementing the evergreen content strategy across Pickswise and multiple group-agreed media partnerships. You will manage, maintain, refresh, and optimise evergreen content. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the editorial team by optimising and editing their content, as well as targeting trending stories within the industry.
This role will be mainly remote, but we would like the successful candidate to come to the London head office a minimum of twice per month.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll have the responsibility for the creation and management of evergreen content that both drives traffic and converts users.
Provide comprehensive content briefs to ensure content is produced to a high standard, is keyword-targeted, and optimised for SERPs.
Regularly update and maintain evergreen content to ensure it is fresh, relevant, and well-optimised all year round.
Manage conversion for all evergreen content, implementing unique click tracking and affiliated links to track and understand value.
Create and maintain the sporting calendar and content roadmap to help identify and plan new content for fresh topics and events.
Provide clear and concise reporting, including traffic, keyword rankings, engagement, and conversion.
Audit and improve internal linking across the site.
Be responsible for Publisher SEO, ensuring content is well optimised and published in line with SEO best practices.
Support the Managing Editor(s) in planning and curating content based on keyword data, trending topics, and seasonality.
Assist with the day-to-day editing of content, ensuring it is grammatically correct as well as SEO-optimised.
Champion SEO in content by providing helpful resources and leading training workshops to upskill and implement SEO best practices.
Monitor performance in Google News and Top Stories, testing new approaches to increase reach and visibility.
Who you are:
Proven track record of managing KPIs and ROI effectively with the ability to analyse results, identify and explain any variance from targets.
Good data handling skills and experience working in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience in editing content either in a previous SEO role or Editorial role.
Experience in working with content in Google News, Top Stories, and Google Discover.
Experience in working with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google Publisher Centre.
Experience in working with SEO tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Botify, Accuranker, or similar.
Organised with a keen eye for detail.
Great communication and interpersonal skills.
Deep understanding of user intent and conversion.
Excellent project management skills are a must.
Competent in using Google Data Studio or similar tools to automate and visualise data.
