Social Media Editor

Penske Media Corp. (PMC), with leading content brands including Rolling Stone, Variety, Deadline, and more, is looking for a multi-talented and ambitious Social Media Editor to work alongside the editorial staff of SPY to grow the audience and profile of PMC’s men’s lifestyle brand.

The successful candidate will be charged with creating engaging social content with a focus on brand-forward, short-form video. Acting as an in-house influencer, the Social Media Editor will become an avatar of the SPY brand, spinning up and starring in franchises focused on what people buy and why. The successful candidate will be good with a camera, great on camera, eager to experiment, and capable of making data-informed decisions. The Social Media Editor’s work will be focused largely on Instagram and TikTok though they should be well acquainted with other platforms. SPY is specifically interested in candidates who demonstrate both a sense of humor and an ability to succinctly synthesize information. SPY is specifically excited to work with candidates who have started to build their own followings.

Responsibilities:

Create social content with a focus on what people buy and why
Build out recurring formats based on engagement data
Manage outside influencers and seek out opportunities for collaboration
Seek out internal opportunities to collaborate by working with other PMC brands
Growing SPY’s Instagram and TikTok followings and increase engagement
Do something with X. Honestly? Whatever

Requirements:

Minimum of four years in a relevant role
Demonstrable interest in men’s style, interior decoration, personal tech, or economics
Demonstrable organization and time management skills
Previous experience working with magazines or newsletters

Typical wage range: $65K-$85K. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
