Through the work of our talented writers and photographers, we bring to light the untold stories of nature, history, businesses, events, communities, attractions, and people that make our state unique. With six entertaining and colorful issues per year, we provide a guide for Nebraskans wherever they may live, and are dedicated to bringing the spirit of Nebraska to life.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Staff Writer at Nebraska Life Magazine. The Staff Writer will be responsible for producing written content that aligns with our brand's mission and vision. The Staff Writer will be expected to pitch and write assigned stories, research topics, and conduct interviews. A successful candidate will be expected to meet deadlines and generate creative, engaging story ideas that connect with our readers.

Qualifications

Excellent writing and storytelling skills
Ability to write engaging and informative content
Experience in journalism
Strong research and interviewing skills
Understand the importance of visual storytelling to accompany written content
Experience in travel, photography, recipe development, or history writing are a plus
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, creative writing, or a related field is preferred
