We're The Builders Station - the home of entertainment, music and information for UK tradespeople.

When we launched in 2017, we kicked off a brand new format with a DAB station built with tradespeople in mind -authentic trade voices, the best on-site soundtrack and a schedule designed around a tradie's day.

Launching nationally in 2022 with The Bald Builders Breakfast, The Clive Holland Show (formerly BBC Cowboy Trap), Chris Frediani (DIY SOS), plumbing influencer Andy Cam, sparky-turned-YouTuber Thomas Nagy, carpenter, craftsman and influencer Robin Clevett and TV presenter and builder, Mark Millar - the station has quickly grown audience reach.

We've grown our roster too since - adding Down Tools drive with Trev & Rich, Overtime with Wes & Leanne, new podcasts for even more trades and we're constantly out where the trade are - with Street Team events, trade shows, exhibitions and more.

The Role

The Studio Visualisation Producer/Editor will be responsible for capturing all video content recorded at the Fix Radio studio in Vauxhall and the Bald Builders studio hub for social and web.

Working closely with the Social Media Manager and individual show producers you'll identify key content, edit it, and serve it up on-brand and to tight deadlines for our social media platforms (TikTok, Insta, Facebook etc).

As Studio Visualisation Producer / Editor you'll be the expert for video production within Fix Radio- taking responsibility for managing video and lighting equipment in both the Vauxhall-based studio and the Bald Builders studio hub, including hardware and software, and make decisions about new kit- equipment like cameras, lights, software etc, and where appropriate - responsible for acquiring equipment.

Studio Visualisation Producer / Editor is primarily based at our Vauxhall studio, however, travel around the country to shoot content on-site will be required.

Experience of Camera One (and other Broadcast Bionics studio packages) would be highly preferable, as would prior radio experience and knowledge of Axia Broadcast consoles and the RCS suite of products (Zetta, GSelector etc).

The Responsibilities

- Capturing and editing studio video clips from our specialist ‘trade’ shows and other pre-recorded radio programmes and podcasts.

- Editing longer format videos based on our studio content for our You Tube channel.

- Where appropriate producing/shooting documentary style content (studio and off-site).

- Managing and maintaining studio equipment (Vauxhall and BB Hub) such as cameras and capture / editing software.

- Comfortable capturing studio stills.

- Advising on further video investment for studio (Vauxhall and Bald Builders studio) and building out the longer visualisation strategy.

- Checking studio equipment and preparing the studio ahead of broadcast and recording sessions.

- Where appropriate basic training with other studio producers.

- Be present ahead of studio recording dates.

- Build working relationship with producers and show hosts.

- Expert in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, with experience of Camera One or similar.

- Working understanding of radio and broadcasting fundamentals - knowledge of radio playout systems and studio equipment desirable.
