We have an exciting opportunity for a Writer in Manchester. You will be responsible for creating high-quality content for Syngenta's various internal and external channels, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, and other materials. You will also be responsible for editing and proofreading content to ensure that it is of a high standard, factually correct and aligned with Syngenta’s messaging and brand guidelines. This role offers plenty of autonomy, as you will manage, curate, and edit engaging content on a range of themes and channel styles. Responsibilities/accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):

Creating compelling written content that tells our story as one of the most innovative companies in global agriculture.
Build broader public understanding about farming and how modern farming technologies combat world hunger, climate change and mitigate the adverse effects of extreme weather.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop content ideas and ensure that content is aligned with business objectives.
Continuously reviewing content, performance data, and feedback to improve effectiveness.
Working with the Senior Editor to develop the content framework and editorial calendar.
Supporting the Senior Editor in managing the editorial process and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality content.
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and content for articles and other materials.
Ensuring that all content is optimized for respective channels and platforms.

Knowledge/affinity of/for agricultural industry.
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

Additionally, It Will Be Nice If You Also Have

Scientific knowledge about agriculture, biology, chemistry or life science a plus.
Any additional languages (in addition to fluent English) are advantageous.

Site Details

The role is based in our Global Operations Centre in Didsbury, near Manchester. This is a hybrid contract, with a minimum 2 days per week to be worked in the office, with remote working available for the remainder of the week (for the first few months, there may be a requirement to spend up to 3 days per week onsite). The site is a local hub for worldwide operations, ensuring growers, globally, have access to the right product at the right time.
