Treasure Coast Newspapers and TCPalm, part of The USA Today Florida Sports Network, is seeking an experienced and driven reporter to cover high school sports on the east coast of Florida in St. Lucie, Indian River and Martin counties.
We are looking for a candidate who can build sources, break news, and tell compelling stories. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to write columns and analysis pieces on a variety of sports-related topics.
This position requires a digital-first mindset and proficiency in multimedia skills, including video production, photo editing, and social media engagement. The ability to produce and participate in podcasts is a plus. The candidate must be comfortable analyzing metrics and using Google Search to identify trending stories.
This position’s main newsroom is in Fort Pierce. The coverage range extends regionally north to Sebastian and Vero Beach and south to Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach and Stuart.
Collaboration with the Gannett Florida Sports Network and other high school reporters is also a key aspect of this role.

Report and write compelling stories that serve our existing audience and attract new readers
Utilize various platforms, including video, social media, and podcasts, to engage with the audience
Develop relationships through phone calls, text messaging, and social media
Collaborate with the Gannett Florida Sports Network and other reporters to enhance local and state high school content
Requirements:
Strong writing and reporting skills
Multimedia expertise, including video production, photo editing, and social media engagement
Familiarity with Google Search and ability to identify trending stories
Ability to work collaboratively with others
