Technical Writer Project

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with a focus on optimizing and enhancing a procedural manual for a well-established chiropractic and health and wellness organization. The procedural manual has been instrumental in successful operations, and we are embarking on a project to transform it into a highly accessible and user-friendly resource. This is a 3-6 month, part-time project.

Responsibilities:

· Document Transformation: Lead the reformatting and restructuring of the existing 550-page procedural manual into a more concise, readable, and user-friendly format. The goal is to create a streamlined resource that enables specific sets of users to quickly access relevant information without disrupting the workflow of the medical professionals.

· Technological Solutions: Propose and implement technological solutions for optimizing the accessibility of the procedural manual. Explore options such as creating an online database or utilizing user-friendly platforms that ensure seamless navigation and searchability.

· Content Enhancement: Collaborate with subject matter experts to refine and enhance the organization's best practices. Ensure that the language and tone of the manual are clear, concise, and aligned with the needs of various user groups.

· User-Centric Design: Apply principles of user-centered design to create an intuitive and efficient user experience. Organize information logically, create user-friendly interfaces, and design intuitive navigation paths.

· Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit the content for accuracy, consistency, and clarity. Ensure that the manual is free from grammatical errors, typos, and formatting inconsistencies.

· Project Management: Manage the project timeline, milestones, and deliverables. Coordinate with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure that the final product meets the organization's objectives.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with a track record of successfully transforming complex documentation into user-friendly resources.

· Demonstrated experience with procedural manuals (work sample requested)

· Proficiency in technological tools and platforms for content optimization and accessibility enhancement.

· Strong editing and proofreading skills, with an exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders.

· Familiarity with health and wellness terminology is a plus, but not mandatory.

· Excellent project management and organizational skills.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
