Telegraph Money is looking for a talented Investment Editor to lead and reinvigorate our coverage of this core patch. The role will involve commissioning and editing news, advice and comment pieces, as well as writing major news stories and columns. This will include the long-running Questor share tipping column. The ideal candidate will be full of ideas, have a strong news sense and experience of covering investing. This is a prestigious role that would suit an experienced personal finance reporter who is ready to take on more responsibility and shape investing coverage at a leading national newspaper.
Key responsibilities
Driving original investment content that is worth paying for
Commissioning reporters, writers and freelancers to produce a broad range of content – from columns to data-led interactive tools and case-study led stories.
Generating exclusive and agenda-setting news stories
Developing original and compelling ideas and creative ways to present them - which could include graphics, calculators, video, polls etc
Spotting stories or digital projects from raw numbers
Working collaboratively with colleagues on other desks where appropriate
Essential skills required for the role
Excellent, accurate writing across a range of formats
Experience of writing and developing stories for digital and print
An ability to explain and convey complex subjects clearly and comprehensively
Knowledge of relevant data sources
Enthusiasm, energy and ability to be part of our happy and successful team
An ability to show initiative and work well under pressure

A strong contacts book
Confidence and creativity with headlines, standfirst, pictures, graphics, polls etc
An understanding of the Telegraph audience and ideas for how to reach new readers
