Deputy Editor

The Times-Picayune and The Advocate, Louisiana’s leading news organization and the 2019 Pulitzer winner for local reporting, is doubling the size of our four-member investigative team. We are seeking a deputy editor to help conceptualize, shape and manage the team’s work, which will include long-term projects and quick-turn enterprise stories that build on breaking news. We want someone with bold and innovative ideas who finds joy in teamwork. While we are based in south Louisiana, our goal is to shine the light of accountability across the whole of our state, increasingly a news desert. We aim to root out corruption, inequity and injustice; to help our readers understand why Louisiana lags in so many key indicators; and – perhaps – to effect change.
