Its video business has bureaux in more than 80 countries, and currently distributes global news, sport, entertainment, technology and lifestyles content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms. Video captured by AP can be seen by over half of the world’s population on any given day.

The Associated Press seeks a talented and experienced journalist with a history of video storytelling to join its team in Europe as a Video Assignment Editor based in London. Reporting to the Deputy News Director for Europe, this newsroom leader will help oversee AP's video coverage of Europe, coordinating coverage of spot news, including live video, across the continent. The Assignment Editor will work closely with news directors, senior producers and other staff and freelancers throughout Europe, as well as the AP's global video operations in London and the United States, to ensure AP delivers a competitive and comprehensive video report from and about Europe. The Assignment Editor also will coordinate with text and photos staff on spot news, working closely with editors in those formats to enhance AP’s newsgathering and presentation efforts
