The Associated Press seeks a journalist with a history of successful television and online video storytelling to join our team as a video output producer, based in New York, Washington, D.C. or Los Angeles, CA. Reporting to the head of U.S. video production, this producer will be responsible for ensuring video edits and storylines meet AP’s journalistic standards for accuracy, speed, balance and fact-based, objective reporting. In this role, you will review video edits and scripts and craft sharp headlines and punchy leads. You also will offer guidance and support to producers on editorial and technical standards, including best practices in storyline writing and video editing structure for AP’s broadcast, digital and mobile customers and platforms. You will turn around quick edits of breaking news, working accurately and quickly under pressure, and you’ll ensure the quality of our work in how we produce engaging, well-sequenced feature and enterprise stories.
