The Associated Press seeks a video journalist with a history of successful television and online video storytelling to join its team in Chicago, Illinois, covering some of the biggest stories in the state. In this role, you will conduct interviews, write scripts and edit footage in different styles – from raw cuts to fully produced pieces – to deliver engaging visual journalism. You may occasionally work as a desk producer to cut edits from live video, affiliate contributions and video filed by other AP videojournalists. As a member of a dynamic, round-the-clock operation, you will also be expected to pitch, develop and research stories and contribute reporting in other media formats; including text, photos and audio; to help produce a competitive and comprehensive all-formats news report. You should be able to travel extensively to cover breaking news, often at short notice.
