The Journal Gazette, the largest news-gathering organization in northeast Indiana, is ready to hire an energetic, aggressive reporter for criminal justice beat reporting and general assignment. The successful candidate to join our Fort Wayne-based team will be an individual with an ability to:
Develop rapport with a variety of sources on a range of story topics.
Exercise good news judgment, breaking stories outside of news releases
Be productive and still fair and accurate in reporting
Be willing to accept coaching and constructive feedback
Write compelling daily and enterprise stories that inform and engage readers.
Be a team player who can work well with other reporters, editors and others on staff
Help grow our audience through promoting content on social media
Show interest and commitment to professional growth and career development
Show maturity and adapt to changes required in the evolving media landscape
