Digital Editor - Metro

The Boston Globe is hiring a digital editor for its local news report. We’re looking for a creative, energetic, hands-on journalist who can elevate the digital presence of the Globe’s largest and most widely read department. We prize versatility in our digital editors: We need someone who can write, edit, and bend even the most stubborn CMS to his or her will. The editor will be responsible for managing the Metro department’s presence on digital platforms. This will include writing and editing breaking news, feature stories, and explainers, as well as working with reporters and editors across the department to facilitate coverage. The editor should have a keen eye for audience engagement and be well-versed in how to use social media, newsletters, and other channels to reach readers. Additionally, the editor will be a touchstone for Metro on a wide variety of newsroom-wide digital efforts, conducting trainings and introducing new concepts to the department.
