The Clayton Tribune in the Northeast Georgia mountains in Rabun County has an immediate opening for a full-time sports editor. The applicant for this weekly newspaper would be required to cover sports at three local top-notch school systems and other extracurricular/recreational activities in the county. As part of The Clayton Tribune team, the sports editor additionally would be involved in the production of the print edition and the upload of content online. While the schools’ athletics are some of the best in Georgia, Rabun County also offers incredible scenery year-round and outdoor opportunities. Many of the student-athletes from Rabun County High School, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, and Tallulah Falls School earn college athletic scholarships while playing on winning high school programs. The ideal candidate will have a college degree in either journalism or related field and also have photography skills. This position is a 40-hour-per-week job that involves night and weekend work.
