The Daily Dot, a member of Fragment Media Group, is seeking skilled and creative video editors to craft engaging videos, as we embark on the development of a fresh array of YouTube series and multimedia content across various platforms. The ideal candidate will have a background in video production, excellent storytelling abilities, a deep understanding of the YouTube platform, and a proven track record in producing successful video projects.
This position is a project-based freelance job to assist us in our overhaul of video content with the potential to either turn into a long-term freelance agreement or a permanent role in the future. Responsibilities:
Edit raw footage into compelling videos for our YouTube and other video channels.
Implement visual effects, motion graphics, and other post-production elements to enhance the overall quality of the videos.
Add background music, sound effects, and voiceovers to create a polished final product.
Ensure that videos are edited in a style consistent with the brand's tone and image.
Collaborate with the content team to understand the creative vision and objectives for each video project.
Adapt full-length shows into vertical clips for use across social video platforms.
Requirements:
Proven video editing experience with a portfolio of YouTube content or similar projects.
Understanding of YouTube's video guidelines, best practices, and audience preferences.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
Knowledge of video codecs, resolutions, and formats for optimal YouTube performance.
Creative mindset with the ability to tell compelling stories through video editing.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality videos within deadlines..
