Managing Editor Job Responsibility: *Help manage a talented staff to produce local news and information accurately, with integrity and without bias *Help us navigate new strategies to optimize the digital and print mediums *Ensure that daily we produce an indispensable news report that is bold, aggressive, innovative and filled with impact and sense of place *Help set priorities for our staff and coverage areas *Utilize multimedia storytelling techniques to increase readership *Help develop coverage plans to grow our audience in digital while understanding the importance also of print *Develop and Train others for future opportunities *Partner with colleagues in the newsroom and other departments to define priorities for news coverage and membership growth *Serve as editor when the executive editor is out *Oversee important content initiatives that lead to revelatory journalism *Uphold the highest journalism standards across digital and print platforms, strongly support the First Amendment and conceive, pursue and execute watchdog reporting Qualifications *Bachelor’s degree or higher. *Minimum of seven years in significant leadership roles in a newsroom or newsrooms with demonstrated success. *A track record of transformation and leading in an inclusive environment that fosters collaboration and innovation *Strong news judgement and experience leading sensitive and complex news content as well as personnel issues
