The Denver Post is seeking a Breaking News Intern to work on the City Desk over the summer of 2024. We are a newspaper seeking to serve a broad audience and that is only possible when we embrace diversity, both in our news decisions and our staffing. The No. 1 newspaper in the Rocky Mountain region, The Denver Post is helping shape the next generation of journalists by offering 10-week paid internships for the summer of 2024. In addition to this position, we are seeking news and features reporting interns. This is a paid internship, but interns will be responsible for their own travel, housing and transportation.
What you will do:

Report on breaking news for online and print

Source development and relationship building

Contribute to pitching story ideas

What you will bring:

Applicants should have completed junior year of college before summer 2024

A demonstrated interest in print and online journalism

Well-versed in basic news writing and AP style

A reliable car is required

Previous internship at a daily paper is required

The hourly wage is $13.65. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
