Copy Editor

The Detroit News is seeking a part-time copy editor to join the News Desk. A qualified candidate should have a strong grasp of copy editing, AP style, creative and SEO-optimized headline writing, and will be expected to do some print layout and page design. The position will be heavily focused on producing the print product, including assembling and laying out wire copy, but web producing and social media skills are a plus. The copy editor should also be comfortable working with sports, business, features and local news.
