Entertainment Reporter
The Epoch Times is seeking experienced Freelance Entertainment Reporter to create and write original celebrity and entertainment content for our website, TheEpochTimes.com. You can identify the newsworthy stories and produce original and exclusive reporting from a wide variety of sources.
The Epoch Times’ primary goal is to bring our readers accurate information and revive traditional values. Therefore, the entertainment news content should reflect and respect American traditional values. Truth and Tradition is our brand.
Duties
Identify, pitch, write, and edit entertainment and celebrity articles that drive traffic to our web site.
Pitch and write original entertainment and celebrity features; rewrite original content from third-party sources; making calls to PR, law enforcement, and attorneys when necessary.
Seek out primary sources and conduct original and high-profile celebrity interviews (preferred but not required).
Fact check, provide compelling SEO-friendly headlines, and choose engaging images.
Conceive and build new, compelling in-depth content.
Accept and apply feedback received by the editorial team.
Job Requirement
At least 3 years of experience in writing content for print or the web with a focus on pop culture, celebrity, and entertainment news.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and work under pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Familiarity with entertainment and celebrity landscape.
Solid news judgment and excellent journalism ethics.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Working knowledge of photoshop, photo editing, and copy-editing skills and thorough knowledge of AP Style

Pay Range
The compensation scale fluctuates based on the article's nature, as detailed below:
Rewriting content from external sources: $50-$75 per article.
Creating original features: $150-$200 per article.
