The Epoch Times is looking to hire a dedicated and self-motivated Washington correspondent to cover politics and craft rigorous, authoritative, and serious news articles and features.
The ideal candidate should be grounded in ethical journalism and dedicated to seeking the truth regardless of how it may contrast with personal bias or convictions.
Duties
— Attend hearings, press conferences, and other events in and around Washington, D.C.
— Write five clean-copy, AP-style news articles based on original reporting every week
— Anticipate, prepare for, and cover major developments within an assigned beat
— Build meaningful relationships with sources
— Collect material for feature stories and maintain a pipeline of content to ensure daily production
— Generate and pitch ideas for original stories and features
— Work flexible days and hours, which may include nights and weekends
— Be ready and willing to travel for politics assignments, including the 2024 campaign trail
Job Requirements
– A four-year degree in journalism, communications, or a related field and three years of experience as a professional reporter... or published material impressive enough to both requirements.
