Story topics include local government, courts, crime, human interest stories, entertainment and event coverage.
Expectations:
Reporters are responsible for writing about 10 to 12 bylined articles each week while balancing long-term enterprise stories and magazine projects.
Some nights and weekends required.
Strong time management is a must.
Have an understanding of how to cover local government meetings.
The Facts is based in Clute, Texas, in Brazoria County, a fast-growing region south of Houston that offers that small-town feel without being too far from the nation’s fourth-largest city. The coverage area stretches from the Houston suburbs to the beach.
Competitive pay with overtime, paid time off and benefits. Starting reporters on average will make $30-35K a year.
