Assistant Op-Ed Editor

The Houston Chronicle is looking for an assistant op-ed editor to join its award-winning Opinion staff. We seek a detail-oriented and organized wordsmith who is deeply curious about a broad range of topics. Help foster an inclusive conversation on the most pressing issues facing the city, state and nation. Houston is America's fourth-largest and most diverse city, and the largest in Texas, and home to roiling debates on culture, education, immigration, race, criminal justice reform, housing, infrastructure, climate change and the future of energy. The ability and desire to work with all kinds of people --- conservative, liberal, inside the Loop, exurban --- is a must.
