News Intern - The Island Packet

Come spend the summer at the beach with us as a paid intern and gain practical education and professional experience while working in one of the most-beautiful settings in the world. The Hilton Head Island area has it all -- sand, sun, alligators, sea turtles and a host of biking and hiking trails and any other recreational activity you could want. It also has one of the very best journalism factories in the country. For six of the past seven years, The Packet has been named the best outlet in South Carolina for its journalism. Come to a newsroom that is big enough to do great work but not so big that you become an afterthought. There is a reason the big metro papers continually come recruiting at our doorstep. Internships are 10 weeks, 40 hours per week, and internships are paid. You will cover local news, features and more. You will leave us with great clips and an unforgettable experience. You also will be a part of our McClatchy South Carolina class of interns. In addition to the work experience, each class is exposed to a series of training sessions ranging from investigative tips to how to get a job when you graduate.
